International Award-Winning Music Producer Peter Elijah Wong, formerly the producer for “The Voice of China” won the “Cultural Contribution Award”. When interviewed, he laughed and said, this small achievement is really not worth mentioning.
The Gusi Peace Prize Foundation of the Philippines has announced the list of winners of the 2024 Gusi Peace Prize, with 18 outstanding figures from around the world shortlisted. As an award winning producer in Singapore, Peter Elijah Wong won the honour of receiving the nomination and award.
The award ceremony was held last night 1st Aug at the Conrad Centennial Hotel in Singapore. The foundation was founded by the famous Gemeniano Javier Gusi. It is awarded every year to those who have outstanding achievements in scientific research, political culture, literature, art etc, for individual and organisation who have made outstanding contributions in the fields of medicine, charity, religion, business, economics, and international affairs, the Philippines “Gusi peace prize is also known as Asia’s nobel peace prize.
Star collaborations with Peter Elijah Wong include Eason Chan and Nicholas Tso, Xu Ruyun and Qi Qin etc. Peter has created countless musical highlights for overseas singers in recent years. However when he was interviewed by Shin Min Daily News, Peter felt that he had only made small achievements but he felt that he was honoured and touched to win such an honor after returning to Singapore!
The winner of the award was only announced last night and Peter must fly to the Philippines in person to receive the award in November.
When asked about the latest developments, Peter Wong revealed that in addition to being busy with the soundtrack for Wang Weiliang action comedy “Baby Hero”, he is also actively supporting local music emerging talents. He said, the two newcomers are very young, about 21 or 20 years old. It is not easy to be an artist nowadays. You have to be proficient in everything related. The two newcomers know how to create music, which is a good start. Although he is well versed in the ecology of China’s entertainment industry, Peter Huang is never in a hurry for success. As a mentor, he believes that laying a solid foundation for new comers first and allowing them to gain a firm foothold is the most important thing. We have to keep producing high standards of music so that we can continue to bring glory to Singapore.
